Looking for 924/944 "cup" mirrors
Anyone have leads on buying those small plastic cup mirrors? Anyone selling a set? I've always liked these but they seem hard to get.
I've heard they also came on some 924s. Also, early VW golfs? Anyone with more info on fitting golf mirrors?
I'm trying to decide between these or a good deal on 968 mirrors.
Thanks, Keith

The lower part (leg) which mounts to the door, is different on the golf, so it will not work on the 944.
I've been contemplating this mod also, but I've heard you can't see much out of them as they are so small. I'd go for the 968 mirrors myself.... but the price they generally go for can not be justified.

Well, I will be buying the 968 mirrors I came across because of the steal of a price. The cups will always be on my "must some day own" list.

Those cups are sweet! Never liked the 968 mirrors on a 944, imo they just don't look right on the sharp bodied 944 so I prefer the stock flags. Plus the flags are more functional.

I'd love some cup mirrors. Been looking for years, Porsche sold the last of their stock a long time ago, they are unobtanium now. I'm a little surprised they've never been made in replica form, but I guess its a pretty obscure thing to lust after.

Combination of golf1 mirrors and standard porsche flag mirror legs should be possible and cheap.

One of these days I really need to figure out how to use a 3-D printer...

I searched for a pair as well for the race car. They were either crazy expensive, or unavailable. That's how I ended up with the GT3 carbon fiber mirrors I have now. Rearward visibility is actually better with those mirrors than it ever was with the stock yellow ones.

The base's mating shape to the mirror is different enough, that it would take a fair bit of work for it to fit.
Those GT3 mirros are tiny. I bet they made them super convex in order to see anything. "Objects in mirror are A LOT closer than they appear"
