944 Owners with LS1 swaps please post in here..
I just want to get a list of who has done the swap and how do you like it now?
Is the car reliable?
Can you drive it daily? If not why?
What issues did you have with installation of the motor?
If you could talk about it on the phone can I get a phone number from you? (Just PM me)

i might join this list if i cant figure out this wiring problem...
talk to TonyG, he has a very nice 951 racecar (that i believe he's selling?) that ive seen in person and it looks as if it belongs there. very, very fast car.
also user DVC has the LS2 in his NA.

I havent fired mine off yet but..getting close. have been doing years of research and have my engine in place, I am doing it quite different than most. 919-760-five8three8 but wont have my phone till tomorrow morning. I do have tons of info though.

i talked to the guys at Lingenfelter who convinced me the LS2 was the most sensible engine to use for this project... once i listened to their logic, i began doing my own research and it became even more clear that it was the superior engine to run over anything else... with the LS3 coming in second, [LS3 might actually be just be too much engine for the driveshaft/input shaft, etc to bear].
crate LS2 + Fast intake + Comp Cams mild cam + Tony Garcia + new high gears = 505 hp + we will find out.

Why would the LS2 be a better option? Are they just trying to serve their best interest and push a certain product of theirs? Are you talking a used LS2?
By the time you buy the LS2 and add those mods you are probably close to the stock LS3 crate that hs a 2 year warranty and plug and play.
I'm just curious because I've been leaning towards the LS3.

A less fun but totally serious question: What kind of fuel mileage are you LSx swap guys getting?
My old Z06 pulled a little over 30mpg on the highway if I was gentle on it, but then that was with the C5 Z06's 6-speed, which IIRC ran in the low 2000rpm range at 70mph. My 951 is closer to 3000rpm. I'd figure 3k rpm would kill fuel mileage.
I love my 951 and my Audi is going back soon (lease) and am loosely kicking around the idea of picking up a 2nd 944 to use as a DD, but swap in an LS1 to cure the reliability issues

that was my first impression too but simply not so.
had I insisted they'd have built me an LS3 in 1 beat.
they told me that I should just buy a crate LS2 engine and do the Fast Intake + Comp Cam and that they'd be happy to do head porting LATER if I decided I wanted more power.
If anyone thinks an LS3 engine is a good idea for their cars I say go for it...

As far as what finally lands in your bay, I am certain that it will be far superior to nearly anything else that runs on the road... this engine is the true savior of the transaxles in my opinion.
It sure as hell isn't the guys in Stutgart.
they can't even build us a nice clock to put in our consoles, an armrest that doesn't break
or steering shafts or ps pumps that DON'T FAIL
or ps lines and oil coolers that don't leak **** up and down the interstate...

Send the part back and I'll issue you a full refund, pay for the return shipping and include 10% above what the part cost.
I am sorry my 4 months of 3 spinal surgeries, physical rehab and a resulting permanent damage inconvienced your schedule. If I could have avoided the accident it I would of, and if I had the capapbility to respond I would have done that as well.
