Default Rennbay: Racing Timing Belts now available & 1 Day Sale

We now have kevlar reinforced racing timing belts available for the 8 valve Porsche 944. The belts are 3 times stronger than regular timing belts, they have superior heat / oil resistance and they do not stretch.
We took the Gates Racing heavy duty belt technology and adapted it for use with the Porsche 944. The belts do cost a little more than your standard timing belt but it is a small price to pay for added insurance against a costly timing belt failure.
As always, Rennbay is offering a 1 day sale on this new product. I wish I could discount it more but we are just lucky to have these belts available for our cars. They come in 3 different kits.

1: The Early (83-86) Timing Belt Kit **46mm WPR Version**
  • Racing Timing Belt
  • Gates Balance Shaft Belt
  • Roller Kit
Regular Price: $285
Sale Price:: $260

2: The Late (87+) Timing Belt Kit
  • Racing Timing Belt
  • Gates Balance Shaft Belt
  • Roller Kit
Regular Price: $285
Sale Price:: $260

3: Belts Only Kit
  • Racing Timing Belt
  • Gates Balance Shaft Belt
Regular Price: $179
Sale Price:: $164

Sale ends tomorrow, Tuesday March 17th, @ 6pm ET. Belt kits are on the shelf and ready to ship.

Let me know if anyone has any questions.

$139 ... but most people want to change both belts at the same time which is why we paired them with a quality gates balance shaft belt for $179 (sale $164)? Right...

As Homer Simpson said when offered that killer in-store extended warranty deal: "Hmmmm. How can I lose?"

Can you provide any data or reference that proves these are better than OEM belts? I mean they sound awesome and I've always trusted rennbay, but this is the pacemaker and I want to be 101% sure.

They are the GatesRacing belt technology. Check it out at www.gatesracing.com . You can also search online because they have been producing these for lots of other models. I couldn't find one reference to a GatesRacing belt failure.

They will only be available for the 8 valve engines. Sorry S/S2/968 guys...

They can only make the 8v configuration and not the 16v ones right now. There was some kind of tooling conflict that was unclear.
I am sure if I sell enough of the 8v belts for them we could probably work something out to get Gates to make the 16v ones as well later on.

Are they reinforced where the rubber teeth are? A lot of failures are teeth getting yanked off - are these better in that respect also?

That was one of the reasons Gates made the design. The aftermarket turbo conversions for the import racers were striping the teeth off the stock timing belts. The teeth on the racing belts are reinforced and they do not fail in the same applications that the stock belt's teeth will. Gates reports the teeth to be twice as strong on the racing belts than the standard belts.

Are there any stated claims as to extended interval between TB jobs? That would be a bargain and a real plus if these could be safely trusted for 60K even if you had to replace the BS belt sooner.
