Height of Bridgestone 245/45/16 RE-11's ?
Hi Guys ,
Even though I'm not driving a Turbo I'm running Fuchs 7+8's on my narrow body with 245/45/16's on the rear . Is anyone running RE-11's on their Turbo who would be willing to measure the height ( by yardstick is close enough ) so I'd see what I'd end up with height wise before buying them ? I've run three sets of replacement tires on my car since new ( on age - miles currently under 15K ) and the Yoko 008R's were very tall and wide , SO-2's were too short and narrow and am currently on Advan 032R's which are probably in the middle of the other two height and width wise . I've got one NOS Michelin Pilot Sport Cup in a 245/45 and it appears about a half inch taller than the Advan . I'd have to have the other Sport Cups shipped in from Europe and maybe given the use the car gets a tire more street focused might make more sense . It's never been tracked . If I could only go back in time - those 008R's worked well and looked the business !
Thanks for the help and input ,
Bryan

The problem is no two tires ( model of tire ) are the same height or width even within a given brand . I think my 245/45 008R's were perhaps a full inch taller than the SO-2's in the same size . If you ask Tire Rack they just give the formula for the size w/o measuring the actual tire type in question . That's how I ended up with SO-2's which looked terrible on the car . Hopefully someone has RE-11's to put a yardstick to .

I guess I didn't articulate that very well ; what I meant was if you take several different models of tire within a certain brand that are the same size - more over than likely they won't have the same overall diameter . I don't mean to imply that tires are out of spec and vary within a certain model . As a point of this in the extreme ; I spent around 30 years in the Land Rover business and Michelin's 7.50 x 16 tire was around 33'' tall as an XS sand tire , but was a couple inches shorter as an XCL military tire . Go figure .

BTW, check you rear pressures...should be 44 psi, 3 bar, in most climates. Where are you located?
