Default Who sells brackets for Optima battery?

It's time to replace the Interstate battery in my '79, and i was thinking of going with a sealed battery like the Optima. I understand they are not the same size as the existing battery; where do I get the brackets that will allow the new battery to be secured properly? Any suggestions on the specific battery # to get - hopefully with terminals in the same location as the existing setup? Anything else I should know?

Although the battery in my '79 (Sears) seems to be the "Energizer Bunny" and keeps going and going, I know that there will soon be a time to replace it. So, I did some reading as to what to replace it with and originally keyed in on the Optima. But what I read gave it low to mid review.

Interstate also sells really great high performance (CCA, A-H, life) AGM batteries and they are the traditional "series" sizes. That is what I have been switching my cars to...one by one...

Battery explosions scare the sh** out of me. I thought the Optima was immune to that but not what I read. How safe are the Interstates?

Battery explosions typically happen from over charging. And I cannot comment on the explosion rate of optima vs interstate but I can add some insight: both are dry cell versus lead acid wet cell so you won't get the leaks and the corrosion caused by battery acid. Both are AGM (advance glass mat) which is the latest and greatest technology (not counting the über expensive Li Ion).

I currently have 6 Interstate AGMs including one in my 930. It mounted easily. I have an Interstate in my old Boss with a fake FoMoCo lid to make my underhood appearance look authentic. In the past I have had both the red top and yellow Optima and they were great.

I switched to Interstate based on a friend's recommendation. You can't go wrong with either IMO.

I have one picture from my GT2 that I can post later when I get home. It shows part number, suite, etc.

Anyone know the Interstate part # or size for the AGM battery that is a bolt in for our 930s? The less messing around the better as I see it.

Interstate MT5-AGM...99% sure that I have the same one in my 930. Photo from my 997TT and GT2RS. H: 7.5", L: 14", W: 7"
Good luck...
