Going Off-Road

Singer has earned its reputation for building some of the most amazing, highly-detailed, bespoke Porsche restomods on the planet. And yet, every single one of them has been built for on-pavement use. As we well know, the 911 has a history of doing a little off-roading as well, and now Singer is doing that justice as well, following the completion of its second major client-requested research and development project - the All-Terrain Competition Study (ACS).

Finding Inspiration

Singer's ACS modified vehicles will be based on the highly-successful 1990 Porsche 964, though they draw their inspiration from the Porsche 911 SC/RS racers from the 1980s. The shop teamed up with rally expert Richard Tuthill and his team as well to ensure that the finished product was indeed capable of handling the punishment owners might put it through.

Fortified Suspension

Singer started by giving its rally 911 a raised ride height, permanent all-wheel-drive, and plated limited-slip differentials. The monocoque chassis is fitted with a long-travel suspension and five-way adjustable dampers, with two at each corner, to soak up the bumps.

Drivetrain

The ACS 911 is then treated to a twin-turbo 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six that produces, at minimum, 450 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. It sends that power to all four wheels via a five-speed sequential transmission, and those that need more for competition or personal reasons can opt for an even more powerful package built to suit.

Race Ready

The body of the ACS 911 is composed of carbon-fiber panels, which keep it as light as possible. The whole thing rolls on a set of 16x8" forged aluminum wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, which cover four-piston monoblock steel brakes. And everything in the cabin is designed for racing as well, including a GPS system and integrated hydration for driver and passenger.

Coming Soon

Singer is aiming to debut the car at the National Off-Road Racing Association's Yokohama Mexican 1000 in April. The first customer has ordered two of them, and once those are delivered, the rest of us will get our chance to own a Singer ACS. As far as pricing goes, well, that will depend on what modifications customers opt for. But like everything else that comes from Singer's shop, it'll certainly be worth the lofty asking price.
