Finally, use a soft cloth to push it in as you work around so as to not scratch or chip the paint.

The trim rings have 2 tabs at the top and bottom that are closer together than the others - it can only go in with the tabs at those positions. You can use the new one to find out where the tabs are so you know where to insert your screwdriver.

This is a way to prevent indentations in those that have leather airbags - use a card or something stiff under your screwdriver, with tape on each side of the trim ring.

This is the tiny screwdriver from a eyeglass repair kit - any tiny screwdriver (flathead) will do.

A small pair of pliers to grab the ring when you pull it out enough to grab it. Shown in a trim ring I pulled out of my last P-car.
