I was told that it is possible for the clutch disc and pressure plate to not sit flush when stacked on top of each other because the pressure of the clutch disc springs on the throwout bearing should retract them enough to allow space for the springs on the clutch disc. However when installed in this orientation, the threads of the pressure plate bolts aren't long enough to allow you to fasten it down. I can get one or two bolts in, but the pressure plate is tilted, so I can't thread in others
