Yet more hardware I had redone in Yellow cad. Unfortunately I did not realize until too late that the 8mm bolts that hold the bearing in place are longer than the 964 parts so the new bolts never made it out for plating and will remain clear zinc as the factory supplies parts now.

I have 20 or so bins like this as you can see the pieces look like new. The new stuff in the baggies isn't as nice. There are many of the fasteners that are NLA and specific applications so are IMO gold. Sorry for the pun.

Just about everything I need as you can see the 993 tie rod to steering rack is the rubber insert version. I pinned them 0 and 90 degrees using roll pins. I inserted a larger roll pin first tan pressed a smaller press fit pin inside that. This worked very well on the track car. Now that car has full EVO upright parts.

There is some minor pitting on this part but it is inconsequential and just surface related. This isn't even a hardened steel part since it is just used to adjust the caster. The smaller piece next to it in the other picture is a 10.9 and is the one doing all the work.

I would have prefered the larger connector on the center lens side but it interfered with the opening for the lens. I decided not to cut the cars harness and spliced into the tail light assembly. It requires an additional plug to be unplugged when removing the tail light but preserved the harness.

Wiring harness needs to be wrapped but all good and literally only one very small spot of rust.

Still needs a new battery and alternator but otherwise everything works. Being an early 83 it has no power steering so it is a PITA in tight spaces. The new owner happily taking on the task of bringing her back to her former glory. I love seeing 20 something get so excited over these. Nothing like your first Porsche.

Not so easy to do especially since it is aluminum lid which gums upeh tools.

Jump ahead as my son removes the badging off the car. It won't say anything which is better than saying cayman

The risers are needed to have some form of rear visibility and adds additional downforce at speed.

Still lots to be done but paint is next and then the rest can be added. This thing is a beast with Gt3 brakes, gerodiscs, Upgraded suspension, and tune with SOUL exhaust sounds pretty amazing but not as nice as the C2. ;) Can't wait to see it done.

Cutting the slots in the aluminum lid was a bit hair raising but ended up perfect. All painted with acid wash primer, primer and touch up but is covered by the top plates.

He wouldn't do the cutting but wa shappy to remove the emblems. I vaguely remember what it was like to be young and so excited over changes like these.

Once everything is painted to match and the side scoops added it should be a good looking car. I guess you can't tell we are a wing family.

The added uprights do help with the rear visibility and added downforce on track.

Installation complete and now waiting on paint I have to admit it came out better than I expected.
