Wheel weight removal tip

Wheel weight removal tip
I have had a problem with the adhesive type wheel weights falling off from the heat of tracking. Another rennlister suggested using duct tape (the tape used on actual ducts - metal backed) over the weights and that proved to work quite well. Problem is that tape can be a bitch to remove.
I am about to mount new tires and tried using a heat gun to soften the tape and it worked very well. Not only did the tape pull without ripping, it took off the weights as well. Some light scraping and much of the residual glue was off. Followed up with some acetone I had laying around. I had to use the high setting on the gun, not confident a hair dryer would cut it.
Before anyone comments about not running weights, other threads go into that.
