Hey, I'm angling tot take my Boxster GTS to COTA in march, and I have a few questions about tires. At the moment I care more about the tire being able to survive at the track more than absolute performance. I've heard that street tires can't survive the heat of track driving, is the Boxster GTS fast enough of a car to overheat the stock Pirellis (with about 8K miles on them)?

I'm also looking at getting a dedicated set of track wheels but Pilot Cup 2's appear back ordered at the moment so I was considering a set of 19 inch wheels and RE-71R's.
