Default 5 year old tires

Hi, I'm buying a used Turbo S that has 5.5 year old tires on it. They have only been mounted on the car for 6 months or so. They have mostly been stored in the previous owners garage. Hence, has excellent tread depth. I will track the car every other month.

Can I wear out these tires over the next few months and then replace or are they unsafe to drive on due to age?

If there is no cracking inside the tread grooves, or along the shoulder area of the tire they should be fine. Wet and dry traction will be decreased from new due to hardening compound. If there is any cracking at all, don't use.
