I'm looking to get some track wheels for my 997 turbo. I'm doing 5-6 DE events a year. I have looked at Work wheels, Advan Wheels, HRE and BBS (my least favorite). I don't like what I call the "traditional" Porsche look everyone goes for. I like the look of a thick 5 spoke like the work meister or advan GT. I wouldn't go with the work because they are as heavy as the stock wheels.

I have RTF drawing up a wheel for me so I just wanted to see what owners think about them and how the quality is.

They seem to be a good company and so far have been very responsive and helpful.

Do you like them? Quality good? Have you compared them to other wheels you have owned? i.e. HRE etc.

Can't speak for RTF, but have you also considered CCW?

This is the closest they have, the SP55. May not be what you're after.




I can say that CCW wheels are well-liked by the track crowd. Specifically their Corsair series. I would imagine this SP series is comparable but you'd have to call to see if there are any engineering differences.

I'm guessing you're after something like this?




There's also the Fikse Profil-5.




Remember to also get some metal valve stems (although whatever wheels you choose probably come with them).

 

yeah those HRE's are sweet.

 

I like my RTF's...so far they seem to be of great quality. Finish is excellent. I'm not tracking with them (yet), just street driving.
