Question Tire suggestions

First let me tell you I'm new here so this may have been brought up before. Second, Porsches are new to me; I'm more comfortable with '60s/'70s muscle cars. That said:

My wife is retired and finally, in March 2008, bought her dream convertible, a 2001 Porsche Boxster (a pre S-model). She bought it with 31,000 miles and now, February 2016, it has 58,000. As you can see, though it's her everyday ride, she doesn't ride very far.
Here's the rub: She's a good driver, no rapid acceleration or hard braking, but rear tires are only good for 10,000 miles or so. I have been told that the rear camber is an issue but I'm seeing fairly across-the-face wear. The current rears are 255/40 Sumitomos with 11,000 and need to go. Any brand recommendations that might give better tire life? (Suspension mods are out of the question. The vehicle has to stay box-stock) - Thanx

You should be able to get closer to 20,000 miles on rear Boxster tires.

Get an alignment.

Buy some Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

And don't run any tire, regardless of tread depth and low mileage, more than 5 years old.

Save your $$ and get Sumitomo HTR ZIII for a summer tire
About 1/2 the cost of Pilot Super Sports and comparable performance

Actually the Sumi HTR ZIII has been our tire of choice (front and rear) so we're sticking with them. And as a bonus Tire Rack has them on sale for $100!
We're also going to get an alignment - can't find any paperwork to indicate that has been done since we bought the car.
Thanks for all the input, folks.
