BBS E26 Wheel Question
I have a set of 5 BBS E26 three piece competition wheels. I am trying to sell them, but keep getting asked questions that I do not know the answers to.
The date code is : 0202 (Jan. 2002)
The wheel code is: 0226139
They are 17" x 9" and 17" x 11"
Gold Centers.
I have been asked if they are aluminum or Magnesium. How do I tell?
Thanks,
Chuck

E26's are cast magnesium. Color on the back face of the center should be a good indicator. The mag alloy is dark gray compared to aluminum.
The 0226139 center part number is not one that I have seen for porsche applications. 0226015 and 0226023 are common centers. Center differences are the depth of the face (back space from the hub to the rim flange) and the length of studs required. And if the rims mount on the front side of the center or mount on the back side of the center.
Other info that interested buyers will want to know is the rim half widths, inners and outers.
