Default Difference between Bridgestone SO2 & SO3?

I need rear tires for my 964t . I currently have the SO2's on all 4 corners. (The fronts are still in really good shape.) I cannot find a set of SO2's for the rear anywhere. So, can I just keep the SO2's on the front and run SO3's in the rear. Or should I replace all 4?

If you care about dry grip, S-03 is worse than S-02. Besides, you should always have the same tire on all corners.

Viken,
THX. I cannot find a set of SO2's anywhere. Can you recommend another brand? What about Yoks, Conti or Pirelli?

Tire Rack is still listing the S-02 in Porsche sizes. Did they say they didn't have any? If so, I would consider the following assuming you are looking for maximum dry performance:

Bridgestone S-02A

BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD

Michelin Pilot Sport Rib

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 - When available

Pirelli PZero System Asimmetrico

S-02A is a totally different tread pattern, not even resembling S-02. Good luck finding a picture as they were o.e. only. I think in 5 years with the company I can remember selling exactly 2 sets.

I have ahd the same issue on my 95 993. I run 03's on rear and 02s on front. The car came that way......

No issues other than the 03's lasted about 1 year maybe 1.25 including 4 DE events.

For me wet performance is critical due to location in PNW.

I am replacing all03's as treadwear dictates.

hope this helps
