BBS E88 Assembly - DIY Instructions

Gosh, I pulled the wheel apart, verified the gasket was new, cleaned everything. Nothing appeared bent or nicked, retorqued and still had a leak. The wheel must have been damaged? Only then did I apply the silicone in desperation. Agree it will be a mess next time if I take it apart.

I've had a lot of trouble over the years with 3pc rims leaking. If you miss a leak and run flat, you can do a lot of damage. The extra reliability is well worth a little rebuild hassle.

I don't think it really matters as long as it can handle higher temperatures... You're just trying to seal air leaking on something hot... If the BBS parts do their job, it doesn't do anything. It's just a little insurance.
You'll need a few tubes. Probably 3... You don't put it between the halves. It has to be metal to metal for the bolted halves. You use it to fill the crack around the joint after the wheel is built. Make a substantial bead.

Metal valve stem gasket source? Buy new set or replace the gasket. I took mine apart and the gasket looks difficult to replace. Where does everyone source their valve stems?

Call Bob Woodman Tires. They stock them. Not expensive... Best source for BBS parts.

I purchase precision instruments. They supply or use to supply snapon. For wheels you'll need a really low amount of torque setting, I think the 3/8's drive will work int ft lbs. or you. An get their in lbs version.
