hi, im running 18x11.5j rears and have fitted 285 30 18 pzeros happily and have a nice subtle stretch. hope this helps.

It will work, stretched a bit thou.,if you like the look go for it., 305 will be the correct tire for it.,cheers.

Heres a 285/30 on a 11". Only difference is it is on a 18".

It depends on the tire. The tire you have will have specs for the min and max rim width. You should be able to find these easily online at the manufacturer's website or a site like Tirerack. Some seem to like to go beyond the recommended width to get "stretch" as I believe it is called in an interest to obtain a particular look, particular in the euro and japanese tuner scene. Does nothing for performance and do so at your own risk.

As a general performance rule, the closer you can get to the max width, without going over, wil net the best performance from a given tire width. (sounds like the price is right).

We run 285 hoosiers on a lot of 11 inch wheels, but that particular tire is spec'ed up to a 11.5 wheel. There are lots of 275's that have a max wheel width of 11 as well.
