Default PVD coating vs Chrome Plating

Hi thought I did this but properly but did not appear to post. I am looking for input from members that have experience with having their OEM alloys chrome plated or PVD coated in bright chrome finish. It appears the PVD is more resistant to salt and supposedly easier to clean and maintain. Has anyone had this done by either method and have comments. Want to get some OEMs traditionally chrome plated for summer use only here in the east. I think there may be slight appearance differences between the two finishes. The PVD is more a chrome simulation. Thanks for your input. Doug

i have no experience but a anecdotal parallel to offer. Black PVD coated watches chip very easily.

FabianG, thanks for your reply. If that is the case, it does not seem to bode well for rims that are bombarded by all sorts of debris on a daily basis. Let's see what other comments accumulate.
