86 944 turbo wheel problem
I have an 86 944 turbo (early offset 23.3mm), purchased a set of wheels from a 1978 911SC, for DE use. Wheels size front 6Jx16 rear 7Jx16 wheel number 911361020 with a square stamping on the end of number 43, there is also a stamping of AS10.62 and FCO. The wheel rubs on the caliper on the front, so I assume I need spacers, what size?
Thank you all for your response.

The offsets for both sets of wheels should be 23mm, but the 911 wheels are only 6" wide, while the 944 wheels are 7" wide, meaning there is 1/2" less from mounting surface to inside wheel spokes on the 911 wheels.
Calculating the difference means you would need 1/2" spacers or 13-15mm spacers.

The 911 6" fuchs has an offset of +36mm, the 7" has an offset of +23.3mm. The 911 wheels have less clearance for brakes than 944 wheels with equivalant os.
The os is clearly stamped on the back of one of the paddles. ET---
To find spacer thickness just measure the clearance needed, if more than ~.25" spacer is used you should also install longer studs.
