18" turbo twist hollow spoke wheels
I have a set of 18" factory turbo twist hollow spokes. I just mounted a set of M-Cup tires 225 & 265. I have tons of room for larger rear tires maybe to 290. Question is: These wheels are not very wide (rear) maybe 9 or 9.5 inches. Can I mount 285's on them. The offsets are fine I am just wondering about the wheel width.

Bill,
If these wheels were off a 993 or 996, they should be 10" wide and would easily take a 285/30 size tire. It was the Boxster which came with a rear 9" wheel but I'm not sure if that one would fit right on your 993.

Thanks Viken. These are the optional 993 wheels that came on the car. They had 265 street tires on them when I bought the car. I have 265 Cups on them now and sure looks like the wheel well and wheel could use more rubber. I will stick with the 265's in the wet and move up to 285's next time.

Who says they're the same size all-around?
BTW, the stock 18" 993 wheel sizes are 8" and 10".
