A modular wheel is one that is made of more than one piece. Usually, 2 or 3-piece wheels are modular.

Usually, a modular wheel would have bolts which are used to attach all pieces together as you see in this picture. AFAIK, the Fuchs wheels are not modular.

No, not really. Plenty people use these wheels on their daily drivers. One word of caution, though. You need to check your tire pressures more religiously to make sure: 1- there's no leaks from the seals and 2- you don't bend the rather soft rim halves by driving over bumps or potholes.
