S02 v/s S03 for 993 C4S
I need to replace all 4 tires on my car. I decided to switch from P-Zeros to Potenzas but am having a hard time deciding between the S02 and S03. Would welcome suggestions/comments from people with experience running these tires.
Thanks.

I don't have any experience with these tires on the 911, but my son ran 16" S-02s on his '89 944 Turbo and I have 17" S-03s on my 944 S2.
Either tire should give you much better wet traction than the P0. I was not at all impressed with the ones I had. The S-03 should last longer than the S-02 as it has a higher wear rating and the outside tread blocks are linked so you'll get less wear during cornering. It also has the dual compound tread so that when it wears it exposes fresh rubber that hasn't hardened. Of course in the 911 you wear them out so fast that who cares
I also think the S-03 will have much better stability because of the large, straight center rib. I can drive through pouring rain and not even notice it.
Both tires are maximum performance tires but I think the S-03 is even more so. I was expecting a little bit softer riding tire compared to the Michelin MXX3s I had previously but the S-03 isn't all that different.
So far I have about 8000 miles on my S-03s and they don't even look worn... but the 944 is a lot easier on tires. I expect them to easily last 35K.
I guess the only downside to the S-03 is they are not N-rated. Check the Tirerack for feedback. The S-03 is easily the highest rated tire ever. I would go with the S-03 unless you can pick up the S-02 much cheaper.

Hi Rohan
I changed from P Zeros to so3 on my 90 C2 because the former are so pathetic in the wet.So far the tyres feel good, they certainly grip the tarmac but then they are new and have huge chunks of rubber for tread.

PS I have had the SO2's as well and the SO3's feel just as good.

Anytime I drove with them they seemed great to me.
