Post Question about Fuchs offsets

Will Fuchs from a 944, 7 and 8 x 16 work on a 74 911 with SC quarter panels?

Thanks in advance

As long as the offset in the front is +23.3mm and in the rear +10.6mm they will fit fine.

DearSSilver,
What year 944. If it is post 1986 the answer is no, not without spacers. These Fuchs are special 944 wheels and have 52.3mm offset. You need to check carefully because this could be an older 944 retrofitted with 911 versions, or a late model 944 with its own version. I am afraid the 944s were quite different inthe wheels department over the various model years. If you check the archives this is covered in great detail.
1986 944 Turbo wheels will fit but you may not like the style.
Ciao,
Adrian

[quote]These Fuchs are special 944 wheels and have 52.3mm offset.

No 944/951 Fuchs were ever made with 52.3mm offset.

As for swapping between 944 and 911 Fuchs, you can use 944 Fuchs on a 911, but not the other way. Using 911 Fuchs on a 944 Turbo would have the spokes hitting the large brake calipers.

Except for a 16x9" 911 Fuchs part #911-362-119-xx, which will fit on both 944 Turbo and 911 without clearance problems.

The 944 52.3mm ET was a phone-dial. This should help to sort you out:

early 944 used the 23.3 mm os that Bill refered to. Late used the 52.3mm os that gruntie and Adrian refered to. look at the back of the paddals for confirmation, ET##.

The 911 actually 930 16x9 has a 15mm os and will not fit any 944

Dear Danno,
You are perfectly correct about the Fuchs. I was looking at the wrong data and the picture of the Fuchs wheel at the same time. There is a name for this of course. Anyway, I apologise for the confusion. In the ROW parts catalgoue the Fuchs fall off the scheme after 1986. I did not check the USA catalogue. Did post 1987 944 owners who installed these Fuchs have any problems installing 23.3mm offset wheels onto 52.3mm offset requirements. Wheel rub etc.

[quote]The 911 actually 930 16x9 has a 15mm os and will not fit any 944

Sure it will, but on the rear only. The stock 16x8" 23.3mm offset 951 rear Fuchs has 5.375" inside and 3.625" on the outside of the mounting surface. Going up to a 16x9" 15mm offset 930 wheel would place 5.59" on the inside and 4.41" on the outside.

On the '82-85 944NA cars, you just remove the stock 21mm spacer and put all the extra 2" on the inside. On the '85.5-86 944NA car and '86 951 where Porsche left off the 21mm spacer, the 16x9" Fuch would look perfect as the outer surface somes out about 1" more to fill that awful inset gap on the rear wheels.

Check out this recent thread: wheels where I put a set of BBS Race wheels in 17x10.5/11.5" on my car. The rear wheel has 7.11" on the inside and 5.14" on the outside with no rubbing once I rolled the fenders. Both the stock (optional really) 16x8" 951 Fuchs and 16x9" 930 Fuchs fit within these dimensions.

Originally I had concerns that the 16x9" 930 Fuchs would rub the 951's brake calipers. But others have used this wheel on their rear of their 951 with no problems:
