C2 wheels on a SC

C2 wheels on a SC
Picked up some wheels from a 92 C2. I've been told they should fit on my 80SC.
Just wondering if anyone else has installed C2 wheels on an SC. Do they need spacers or anything or are they exact fit?
Currently have the 15" original wheels on the car and the C2s are 16".
Also does anyone know the widest tires I can use with this combination.
Thanks in advance.

They will fit perfectly
Assuming they are 16" rims they should have 205/55 on the front and 225/50 on the back.
As your SC is not fitted with power steering I would leave the fronts at 205/50 you could probably however fit a 245/45 on the rear

Dear Mark,
I would not advise you try these wheels too hard without spacers first. Been there done that, bought that t-shirt. For normal driving you may feel a significant change in your general handling because you just shortened the front and rear wheel track. However you may not if you are driving around on straight roads.
When you find out the hard way that you need spacers is when you start pushing the envelope. Hard corners, off camber corners and the like. The damage caused can be minor but it can also be major.
Based on my own personal experience with both 964s and 944s you cannot install the 52.3mm offset rear wheels onto a 23mm offset hub without rubbing. However if you do I highly recommend you measure it all up first. A little trick you can do is to put one wheel on the front and then jack up the other side. Then measure it. See how close things get. Do the same for the rear. It is rough but it may show up some potential rubs. However all that aside you cannot loose 30mm per side, over an inch in track and get away with it unless you are really lucky. Also remember these wheels are larger in diameter, wider and 30mm closer plus to the inside of your wheel arch, each side

Well it looks like I'll need some spacers.
16mm for the front and 29mm for the rear, or as close as I can find.
I am looking at the H&R DRS 15mm and DRM 28mm. Any other recommendations?
Any suggestions who might have the best price on spacers. This will save me a whole lot of time.
Thanks

Dear Mark,
I would contact Tweeks. This is going to set you back a pretty penny as well. Huge spacers to find. I would check out the 930 guys. See if anyone has a set of standard 930 spacers for sale. Maybe a pair of front 25mm (I think) 930 spacers and a set of rear 951 17mm spacers.
Shop around and take your time other wise you are going to be out of pocket a few hundred dollars.
