Un-chroming wheels
Anybody ever tried to un-chrome a turbo-twist wheel. I've got a set that came on 96TT and their god awful ugly. Would like to blast/chemical the chrome off and paint to orig. Suggestions?

Dear Paul,
I very much doubt you will be successful. The Chrome was designed never to come off. It is part of the wheel structure now. I would look around for a new set of wheels and use these as trade ins,

Paul,
I'll echo Adrian's thoughts. Where I've seen chroming peeling off wheels, typically the metal underneath is pitted and in pretty horrible shape. My understanding is that chroming actually weakens the wheel structure, and the pitting I've seen would confirm that.
