Phone Dial Rims on 1983 944??
Hello, Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I looked around and didn't see an answer in any of the FAQs I looked at...so here goes...
I was looking at a 1983 944 today, and wondered if it is possible to put phone dial rims on it. It has a nice set of cookie cutters, but I prefer the phone dials.
Figured I'd rather find out now than after I bought it.
Thanks in advance,

Steve:
I used to have an 83 944 and I put on a set of 16x79 front, and 16x8 rear phone dials from an 86 944T. They looked great. Mark is right, DO NOT get a set of phone dials off of an 87 or later 944. Wrong offset. I learned this the hard way a few years ago as a newbie.

The 16"s are a nice addition, but if it's just the look you are after or the current wheels have new tires that you want to keep, don't forget that the 15" phonedials from a 85-86 944 will also fit and can be picked up for next to nothing. My winter tires are on my original wheels, so they do have their uses I guess.
