Wheel Confusion
Ok heres a wheel puzzle for 1987 944 N/A
Set of Wheels #1 - PDs
Wrong offset Turbo wheels
with 195/60??/R15 Front on 6"
and 225/60??/R15 Rear on 7"
Set of wheels #2 - PDs
Newly refurbished with right offset
currently no tires - I was planning on moving
the tires over from the #1 set but here's the catch the 195s don't go on the 7".
So that gives me 2 options
a) Leave the fronts as unrefurbished 6" as they are, and take the correct offset rear 7"
b) Take the correct offset all the way round and shell out for new front tires 215/60/R15, however they would have to be a new tread pattern as you can't get AVS Intermediates in the right size. So they would have to be AVS ES100
Any suggestions?

First suggestion - don't mix tires. You need matching rubber all around.
Second suggestion - you can NOT put early offset wheels on a late offset car. Therefore set 1 will not work on your car. I'd suggest selling them and using the cash to buy what you really want. You can pick up a nice set of 17" Twists or 993 Cups for around $800. Tires like Bridgestone S03's can be purchased from Tire Rack for around $750 as well.

Thanks Icat
From what I have read Yokohama ES100 and Yokohama AVS Intermediate are similar in grip levels. As I already own both sets of wheels, I have decided to choose the correct offset all round and just buy the new front ES100s. Later on I will think about getting some 17s plus getting some winter tires for the PDs as it's my daily driver.
