Ride Matching

Ride Matching
I just got another pair of tires put on the rear this morning. The tire shop keeps asking me if I want to get the "Computer Ride Matching" done. I have asked them what this is and all I really get out of the explanation is "it gives you a better ride..." It's only $10 a tire so I get it done. But I still have no idea what "Ride Matching" does. Is it a gimick with no real value? Can someone explain what it is and why I need/want it?
Thanks,

Never heard of it. It sounds like that's where they pass the magic "ride matching" wand over your tires after they're mounted, and then they all go out for beers on your 40 bucks.
I'd pass next time without a detailed explanation that sounds logical.

That's funny Vinny . I kind of thought that might be the case, but I'm a programmer not a mechanic, so what the heck do I know.
