Post Will Trade My 18" RH 3 Pc 3.6 Turbo Rims and Tires for Fuchs 16X7 & 9's

I would like to trade my RH 3.6 Turbo Style 3 - Piece Rims and Tires on my '89 930 for a set of stock 16X7 and 16X9 Fuchs rims and tires. These rims were on my car when purchased last September. They look awesome, however I am experiencing fitment issues that will require rolling of my fenders to remedy. (I can not bring myself to do that to my car...)

My Rims and Tires Are:
18X8 with 27 mm offset Fitted with 225/40 ZR18 Eagle F1
18X10 with 15 mm offset Fitted with 265/35 ZR18 Eagle F1

These were purchased by the previous owner last year from By Design for about $3700.

Follow this link for detailed pictures of the rims and the rims fitted on my black 930:

<a href="http://pws.prserv.net/shawnaburns/cliffs930/" target="_blank">http://pws.prserv.net/shawnaburns/cliffs930/</a>

8 inch front rims are very nice. During my pre-purchase inspection my mechanic noticed a slight bend in one of the rims which I have not noticed while driving. Also have a slight amount of crazing in the clear coat on the pass front.

10 inch rear rims look really sharp except for the very outer lip of the rim which has rubbed on my fenders. This has rubbed some of the clear coat off on one side and has scraped into the metal of the lip on the other side. This is not very noticeable while on the car except when I am right up next to the rim cleaning it.
The tires look nearly new and have about 3000 miles on them.

For more info on the rims see RH Wheels <a href="http://www.rh-wheels.com/" target="_blank">http://www.rh-wheels.com/</a> and Wheel Enhancement <a href="http://www.wheelenhancement.com/36tbo_rh.htm/" target="_blank">http://www.wheelenhancement.com/36tbo_rh.htm/</a>

I would like to trade these wheels for a nice set of 16X7 and 9's Fuchs with tires. I would prefer factory anodized with black centers although polished rims may work too.

I would prefer to trade for a set of rims but may be willing to sell them outright. I already have one offer to purchase the rims but am willing to entertain other offers. I am located in Cincinnati, OH 45069.

Please e-mail me if you are interested. cpapsdorf@cinci.rr.com

I have a set of 951 7" and 8" if that interests you... the 951 8" are popular with your car (so I hear) on the front ~ but that leavs you with needing to trade/sell the 7" to get your 9"....

I'm not certain I want 18" rims ~ but if you're interested I'll have to entertain the idea.

Brian,

Thanks for your interest. I really only want to trade for wheels that will direclty fit my car. After storing my car all winter I really want to have enjoy it.

Your 951 looks sharp. Along the same lines, I have a 1987 Volvo 740 rare stick shift Turbo Wagon I would love to trade for it. Just kidding...

Take Care and get off the fence. The 951 is a fun machine. Enjoy it this summer! Of course stay on the fence if you are considering a 930 purchase - these are really a blast to drive!

Sorry, the wheels are no longer available. (At least for the time being.)

Thanks to some help from the great members on the Rennlist 911 Turbo Forum, I have discovered that my car has was lowered by the previous owner. This is very likely the root cause for the issues I am having. I am going to return the car to its stock ride height and have a 4-wheel alignment.

I plan to keep my RH wheels for a while until I have a chance to evaluate them at the stock ride height. If this still does not resolve my clearance issues, they will be available again on this forum in a few weeks. If you are still interested in them, please drop me a note and I will get in touch with you if I end up wanting to part ways with them in the future.

Cool

Hey Cliff,

If you do decide to eventually go back to the Fuchs you might consider using “rear” 930 8x16" in the front with 9x16" in the rear. The front track will increase by 2" and the rear track will increase by about 1/2". I am now running 225-50s in the front and 245-45s in the rear. I am planning on trying 255-50s the next time I replace the rears. The 245s look pretty small. This is the combination you see on the picture of my car on the left.

Since your car may have been lowered too far, just may be the cause of your rubbing problem. Let us know how it turns out!

Cheers! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />
