Hello, can anyone help me? I'm looking for a good-quality number that I can trust on the weight of a 17x9 993 Cup wheel (I think the part number is 993.362.128.00). I'm thinking of using four of these as race wheels on my new '89 944S2 race car (any comments you have on how difficult the fit is on the front would be welcome), and I'd really like to know the weight before I go out and buy some. The problem is that normally reliable sources don't agree on what the right answer is. I've seen weights anywhere from 18.5 lbs to 25 lbs, with the numbers I'd trust most being 19.5 lbs (Steve Timmins/IG) and 22.5 lbs (Wheel Enhancement). The difference between those two numbers is a pretty big deal for me, because as 19.5 they're a good deal, whereas at 22.5 I might as well spend the $$$$ on a new set of Fikses. Has anyone out there personally weighed one of these? Is there any chance of a serious variation like this occuring within the realm of 17x9 993 Cup wheels (I'm talking the Porsche originals only, not the extensive numbers of replicas)?

You might have better luck posting this on the 993 board. Lots of track guys there that know this sort of thing.

On the 993 board the search ****'s will point out you need to search the archives...

993 cup is 19.5 lb for the 9x17. It's interesting to note that the 996 version is slightly lighter. If you search the 993 board and limit your searches to where Viken responded (user #2), you'll find what you want and have less to search through. The offset on these is 55 mm, will that fit on your model?

The original 17" "Carrera" 996 wheel (9" x 17") weighs 22.26 lbs. I don't have the weight for the 993 Cup version but I would guess it's pretty close to that or a bit more.

FWIW, the newer 17" Carrera II wheel of the same size weighs 21.38 lbs.
