Post Sport Classic originals or not ??

Hi P lovers,

I am up to buy secondhand "Sport Classics", 17" wheels (+tires).

The guy who is offering them tells me they are originals. I can not check them as they are about 500 miles away from me. Something is bothering me.
He gave me as details :

Front : 7 x 17" offset 55 tires 205 50 17
Rears : 8.5 x 17" offset 50 tires 225 45 17

Are those the originals or not ? According to me the originals were :

fronts 7 x 17 offset 55
rears 9 x 17 offset 55

Or are there different sizes in the originals aswell ?

I am also looking for pictures of P cars with the Sport Classics on them. I tried the " search function" but all the pictures are gone.

Maybe somebody can help me out ?

Thanks

I believe factory wheels will have a part number on the inside someplace. You might ask the seller to tell you what that number is and then check for correctness.

Why bother with the 17". I'm selling my 18x7.5 and 18x10 Original Sport Classic IIs (2 piece wheels). I have the original painted crests for them as well. These have very little use and absolutely no curb rash or scratches. I'm in Toronto, Canada but I can ship them anywhere. If you're interested, email me directly at agat@rci.rogers.com and I can provide you with more detail.

Thanks

Sport Classic II's are much more attractive than the 1 piece versions (see my avatar).

However, if your getting a deal on the 17 inch versions... Well a deal is a deal!

Here is another view of 18's:
