Default Move to R compound tires/what to expect

Ordered my first set of Toyo R-888s for the track. Having never driven on R compound tires, any suggestions for initial tire pressure? I have a 964 coupe with 18's....front 225/40 and rears 265/35.
Also, purchased car with the 18's and have never run on 17's. What are the advantages/disadvantages of 18's over 17's? (Other than the increased tire cost for the 18's).

Thanks for the help/advice.

Let them heat up! They are slick cold. 17's will always be better for the track - lighter and less $$$. If you track a lot having a temp surface guage really helps with pressure adjustment as there are so many variables - temperature, driving style, type of track etc.
