911 Widebody 15"x11" Tire Problem!!!!
Hi Guys:
I just got my first Porsche..:-) I posted pics of the car in the 911 forum board. I need to know what my options are for rear tires with the Gotti 15x11 wheels that are on the car. Right now the wheels have Pirelli P7 285/40/15 on them and they are dry rotted and cracking. I can NOT find 285/40/15 replacements for them and the only other tire I found was the Pirelli P-Zero 345/35/15 for around $550.00 each, and there’s no way I can afford those.
What are my options???
Also does anyone know if a 295/50/15 tire will fit the rear without any spacing issues?? It has an over all diameter of 26.7". Is that going to be too big for the rear wheel well??
Thanks for any input: Fantor

Do you have better advice? I'd like to know too. I've been looking for 15 x 7's and 8's and even those are tough to come by. Unfortunately, I have to believe 15 x 11 is going to be nearly impossible to find.
Fantor, 17's may be your best bet. I saw your car on the 911 forum. Are the Gotti's a 3 piece wheel? If so, you could always have them turned into a 17" wheel.

mck911, I am not sure if they are 3 peace wheels or not. How do I tell?? Also how can I get them turned into a 17"?? If I could do that, that would be great I like the look of the gotti wheels and would like to keep them.

You should try contacting one of the guys who does the Fuchs. I don't know, nor have I done business with Jeff Alton (I believe that's his name) but he gets great reviews from what I've seen. If they are 3 piece they should be relatively easy to make larger (new inner and outer halves mated to your center piece). If you know wheels well, you could probably tell by looking at them. Otherwise, you'd probably have to remove the tires or take it by a tire shop.
