RA-1's or Kumho Victoracers
OK, here's the deal: I have 7 and 9 x 16's on my SC, which is used 75% track/AX and 25% pleasure drives on nice days. I would NOT like to buy a dedicated set of track wheels (yet), so for the time being will be using the above tires for double duty. I put maybe 4500 miles total on the car, 5 or 6 AX's, 4 or 5 track days/DE type events.
So, which will wear longer? Anyone with direct experience w/both tires?
Thanks for the board's expertise and sage advice. The only other options in my size of 245/45-16 for the rears are Fuzion ZR-1's and Toyo Proxes T1's, both decent tires I guess but I think I'm past pure streets.

I've used both at track and for AX, but that was five or more years ago. Both gave good wear, although I ditched the RA-1s early because they didn't provide the grip at AX that the VictoRacers did. They worked about equally well on track for me, and were also similar driving to and from events on.
A lot of people swear by RA-1s for track, so maybe they're just a bit cold-natured for AX.

RA-1. I have used both RA-1 and Victoracers on my 944 for the track. I liked the victoracers alot for autocross and track. However the RA-1 were a better value. I do think the victoracers were slightly faster for autocross, but both were similar on a big track. I mostly track now and don't autocross much. In my experience the RA-1 lasted much longer (50% to 100% longer) than the victoracers when comparing track use.
I have also been hearing lots of good feedback on the Nitto NT01, but I have never run them.
