Default 964 Track Wheel Offsets?

Hi everyone.

I drive a 1993 RS America that is set up well for track use. I am about to order a set of Fikses for my car to run Hoosiers on for the track. Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the correct offsets that would work the best?

I'll be running 245/40 R17's up front and 275/40 R17's at the rear. All my fenders have been professionally rolled. I am looking to run them on 8.5x17" front wheels and 10x17" rear wheels. Any offset recommendations?

I was thinking 51mm offset for both front and rear?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Default 964 Track Wheel Offsets

I recently bought CCW track wheels for my 1994 964. My car is lowered with JIC Cross suspension. The fronts are 8.5X17 with 51mm offsets, (6.75" backspacing) using Hoosier 245/40 R6's. Perfect fit.
The rears are 10x17 with 44mm offsets (7.25" backspacing) using Hoosier 275/40 R6's. Good clearance on the inside but rubbing on the outside. Fenders are rolled. I tried two other 10" wheels (Fikse and BBS) but still had outside clearance issues. Oddly, these wheels worked well on a friend's 1993 RS America. After much measuring and trying a 9.5x17 wheel, I found that a 9.5x17 with 51mm offset (7.25" backspacing) worked well on my car. I know several fellow racers who use 10x17's on their 964's with no problems but they would not work on my car, go figure. I am sending the rears back to be re-made to 9.5's.

As a side note, the guys at CCW are great to work with. They are re-making wheels at no charge and were very helpful in making sure my wheels fit and that I was completely happy. I am and I would recommend them to fellow Rennlisters. I learned about them from a fellow racer.

During my research I talked to Fikse and their recommendation for the 964 for rear wheels were 9.5x17 44mm offset (7.0" backspacing) or 10x17 51mm offset (7.5" backspacing). Fikses are great looking wheels. I would recommend trying both 9.5's and 10's if you know someone who would let you try their wheels before buying. Good luck and I hope this information helps you find the right wheel/offset for you 964.

Thanks for the input.

I am going to go with a 51mm offset front and rear I think. It should work on my car, and spacers are always an option as well. I too have heard good things about CCW, but I am a Fikse man. Bought a set of Profil 10's, all black anodized, and they are great wheels. I would recommend them to anyone as well.
