I have a set of Fikse FM 10 wheels with new RA-1s seems maybe when my knuclehead tire guy mounted the tires he might have knocked one of the wheels out of true. I have raised the car and spun the wheels with a dial indicator on both flange and center section. On one I get a .005 on the center the other .015. On the flanges or edge of the rim there is about a .020 variation. Is this within spec or is it enough to give vibration????
Thanks,

The center with a run-out of 0.015" could be the issue, the other with 0.005" is good. The rims at 0.020" are within spec. as well. Most other three piece wheels have a spec. of under 0.040" run-out on the rim halves. I would start with checking the tire balance, typically the problem. If you feel the vibration in the steering wheel at certain speeds than most likely it's coming from the front. If you feel it in the seet bottom then it's from the rear, if both, re-balance all the wheels/tires and check the tire pressure and tires for any defects.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply......I always thought if you could drive in or out of vibration it was a balance problem? With this the vibration is constant but not as noticable at slower speeds. I sent them to a wheelshop for inspection.....hopefully that will solve it and not a new whell.
