Default Tire selection

Yes I know this is a tired (pun intended) topic, but I need your opinions. I have the stock 7 & 8 inch phone dials. New rims are not an option. Here are the two options I am considering for tires:

1. Go with 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 rear Hankook Ventus R-S2. This would give me a little more meat on the road and also a little better look with the wider rubber.

or

2. Go with 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear, Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec. A far superior tire, but will they perform the same as the wider rubber mentioned above? A little less "cool" factor, at least in the looks dept.

Both tires are similar in price so that is not an issue.

The intended use of the car is casual around town/back road use with the odd touring laps at the track and perhaps half a dozen autox's.
Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Have you given any though to the Toyo T1R? Comes in the 245/45-16 size and it seems like it has the same performance of the R-S2 while being quieter and more comfortable.

I no longer have a 951, but I would go with 225/245 combo. 205s are just not enough tire in the front, from my perspective. I would run a 225/225 combo before I went with w 205 up front.

But I am not a doctor, so what do I know ?
