Default best tire for 16" phone dial?

ive perused the wheel and tire forum a good while and still can't really find a straight answer on the best tire for me. i have the 16x7 and 16x8 turbo phone dials (late offset). i need new tires for mainly street use and the very occasional track. mainly looking for a tire that can handle the potential of the car while being pretty quiet and comfortable. also, whether to run 245 45's at every corner or different sizes front and rear. any suggestions appreciated!

I would look at the Hankook Ventus 214 tires and you will want 225/50 fronts and 245/45 rears. The 7 inch front are not large enough for the 245s.
They work well on the street as well as track use.

I am not sure what tire you are referring to, the Z214 is a R-comp tire. I would say the R-S2 Z212 are you're best bet though. You can get them in 225/50 and 245/45 and they are relatively cheap for the performance I hear. Many people have been suggesting them here lately.

You may want to post this on the 944turbo board. You'll get more info than you would ever remotely want to tolerate, but plenty of it will be valid.
