Default My stickies got slicky?

When do your track tires need replacing?

When the cord starts showing or do they get slick instead of stick?

Autocrossing this past weekend, my Kuhmo VictoRacers got very slippery. The outside tread (what there was) is gone and there is just a little bit of inside tread visible.

I knew it was about time to replace them and I keep hoping they will hold up for one more AX. The last two runs I spun out on the second slalom. The last time, run #4, did bring a round of applause, as I completed a 360, but that was not why I was there.

I've heard/read that some soft compound tires have a layer of harder compound a few mm before cording.

On the other hand, I used Victoracers for years and never experienced them going slippery near the end. I replaced them before there was no visible thread, however.
