rumor has it, the cup tires are quite narrow, while hoosier are bulkier, can anyone confirm? I run 295 30 18 cup's today, but I have minimal clearance, so if the hoosiers are wider, I'm in trouble, so 285's might be an alternative. or even 275?
the rims are 18x11
anyone tested both tires? bfg r1 might be an alternative as well
reason for not buying another set of cup is that tirerack has them on backorder and I'm kinda in a hurry, and belive it or not, nobody in my country stock the dim in r spec tires :|

I have been running Pilot Sport Cups for 2 years. I just got into running R6's and they are night and day. The cups take 2 laps to heat up, the R6's are instant. The cups last twice as long and die off slowly. The R6's are super sticky then they are completely done. I usted to run 295/30/18 on sport designs, now I run HRE 19" P43. Also I notice with the cups that they pick up everything, rocks, dirt....the R6 are always clean. I have stuffed the biggest tire possible in a 996. If you can afford them and you can fit them, go the R6.

You can check the specs of the 295s at tirerack.com, except Michelin never gives tread widths for some reason. Going by section widths, the A6s are actually narrower than the Cups (11.6" versus 12.1"). The A6 285 is a .4" shorter tire than the 295, but has a wider tread (10.9" versus 10.8")? You might call Tire Rack to check on the tread widths.
