Default Flat Spot Check

Is there a way to check an unmounted tire for flat spotting? I've been offered a good price for a set of used race tires with one DE, car was totaled in contact with other car.

You can see it as you roll the tire away from you, unless it is really small. it is actually a "flat" spot, usualy across the whole width of the tire, about 2" to 4" wide. Look for cording, obviously. If not apparent, they are probably good.
