Default C4S Tire issue 225/40/18 vs. 235/40/18

Hi All,

I am in need for a new set of tires and I want to put Michelin PS2 on my car but Michelin does not make the front tire N-rated.
Front: 225/40/18
Rear: 295/30/18

Michelin does make the PS2 N-rated but in the 235/40/18 size. Slightly taller and wider but within 4% spec. I found some postings in PCA.Org which state it is OK to go for the 235s. But I am looking to find if someone has done something similar.

Has anyone done this on a 4-wheel drive (C4 or C4S)? Any issues with the front drive? Someone mentioned that this slighter change may bring issues to the front wheel drive and/or transmission. Is this right?

I have already found that my speedometer will not read properly (70 read will mean 70.88) but nothing on issues with a 4-wheel drive.

Of course, the alternative is to put non-N-rated PS2 on front or just stay with the stock option.

I will appreciate any comments.

Thanks.

Martin

Just try to keep OD front to rear within 4% of each other you will be fine. 20-25.5" OD is where you want to be.

Give me a call if I can help.

I ran the 235/315 PS2s on my TT on the stock wheels with no problems.

Thumbs up

I track with 235 and 295 on my 996tt. Absolutely zero problems.
