Default General UHP tires?

I found a set of 19" wheels that come with General UHP tires. I'm told they are similar to ContiSport Contact tires. Does anyone know if these are decent tires? They want a lot more $ for a name brand tire like bridgestone, Michelin, etc.

No, please don't...they are not even in the same universe as the Conti's.
Unless you just putter around slowly I think you will be dissapointed in them. There are other "bargain" tires that actually offer excellent real world performance. Check out Kumho, Hankook etc.

there is nothing wrong with these tires i bought a pair of them and dont regret it at all not much of a diffrence in grip than the conti sport contact 2 i replaced them with, i doubt any of these guys have driven on the two back to back. sidewall might be a little softer but the diffrence is not significant and overall grip is close. not enough to give up the diffrence in treadwear.

They are rated as one of our best sellers and so far we have not had any negative feedback compared to the sales volume on them. But one thing to keep in mind is this tire's success is price driven. I bet as time goes on we'll see their reviews start to slide a bit as the law of averages sets in.

If I had the choice, for the price point I would buy Kumho SPT's.
