Default 944 n/a tire problem (goodyear eagle GS D3)

Hey,
I was looking at getting a set of spring/summer tires for my 951 16x7 and 16x8 phone dials. I read on a few previous threads that the prefered tire sizes were 225/50 front and 245/45 on the back. I had determined that the eagle gs-d3's were perfect and just realized that they do not come in 245/45 in back, the only sizes they had were 245/50, so..... will they fit (according to tire rack, yes, but I dont trust 'em) if so, whats the downside?
basically: will the 245/50's work on my car?

Thanks Alot
Seb

Come to think of it, one set of wheels i bought came with 245/50/16 tires. The sidewalls look a little off to be honest with you but its no big deal. My car is lowered about an inch in the rear also and had no rubbing problems..i never did autocross it like that though. I only ran it with those tires for about 100 miles before i took them off and mounted proper sizes, 245/45/16 (Dunlop SP8000's).
