Default Stock rim size for '87 944 Turbo

Hey stupid question, I was wondering what the stock widths of the rims are on my '87 944 turbo. Not sure of the exact options on the car, but doesnt seem to have the best suspension options. The tires on the car now are 245/45/16 in the rears, and 225/50/16 in the front. The current rims are phone dials, late offset, and I'm interested in putting snow/ice tires on them, as i just got a set of chrome club sports (6",8")

I live in northern nj so we get snow here and there, and ice, but I'd like a tire that will not burn to shreds if theres not snow on the ground, but if it snows, I'd rather not swap the tires every time, etc. Also ice is usually prevelant. Any thoughts on sizing and brands. From searching the posts the nokians or whatever sound good??

Thanks alot.

Stock rim sizes are 16x7 and 16x8. The stock tire sizes are 205/55/16 and 225/50/16. Your current sizes (225 and 245) are a common thing for people who want to get more rubber under the car. They are the largest sizes you should use on a 7 and 8 inch rim. Are you sure the ClubSports are 6 and 8s? I thought those wheels came in 7.5 and 9's...i think, im not sure.

As for snow tires, i would poke around on TireRack and see what they have.

Yeah the club sports are def. 6" and 8", maybe I'm calling them the wrong name, they might be called the "manhole" type of rims? They look like the ones you have on your car except they are chrome.

they're probably d90's in a 6 and 8 inch width. b/c like techno duck said above the clubsports are 7's and 9's and they have a flat type appearance to them where the d90 has a slight "lip" if you want to call it that.

in the way of sizing and tires for snows i'd recommend nokian tires in a slightly more narrow size. if your using the phonies for example id use a 205/55 in the front and a 225/50 out back. there are a lot of good snow tires out there, just make sure to get something with at least a v rating otherwise you'll hate life. g/l
