Default Q: wheel weights of OEM versus knock-offs.

I have a possbile buyer for my Supercups and I think I will go with the 18" Mille Miglia Cip 3 knock-offs that Tire Rack sell.

Can someone tell me what the OEM 18" twists weigh? Not the hollow spoke wheels but the standard 18" twists. I need to see if there is a huge difference in weight between the OEM and the knock-offs.

Also, if someone has a set of OEM twists or carrera 5-spokes laying around, I'm in the market if you want to sell them.

The weights vary considerably upon the exact width and offset. For my Mille Miglia Cup 3 (which are also for sale if anyone's interested) in 17", I would estimate they are roughly comparable to the factory Turbo Looks if you make a ballpark correction for the smaller size. I used to have the factory 18" Turbo Looks. The Mille Miglia offsets are also a lot better.

I'm looking for $900 which is about 1/2 what I paid TireRack about 1-1/2 years ago. They have 10K miles on them. Fronts are 235/45 RE750s about 8/32" tread left. The rears are 265/40 S-03s about 5-6.5/32" tread (a little more worn in center). Wheel centers not included, but they do have factory Porsche valve stem caps. No curb rash. Normal wear-and-tear you'd expect for 10K miles except: there are a few small discoloration spots on the front right wheel due to some outgassing of the battery vent tube. I don't know why Porsche decided to vent it there ?! Otherwise, they are well cared for, regularly waxed, etc. They are 7.5" ET 52 and 9" ET47, and I believe are the same for Boxster or 911. According to my Christophorous, the 911 17" wheels are 7" ET50 and 9" ET50. PM your email, and I'll send you some pics. I was going to keep them for winter since I have my R compounds on now (different set of wheels), but I'll let them go if anyone wants them.

I don't need the tire. Just the wheels. I have a set of 17" already and one is slightly bent and another is out of round. They are my track wheels so I just wanted another set to put my race rubber on.

If you are willing to take the tires off, let me know....nsnyder996@yahoo.com
