Default WTB 17" C4 996 Wheels

Howdy,

I'm looking for a set of the 996 C4 wheels with 17x7 55mm front and 17x9 55mm rear. If anyone has a full set please let me know and the price.

Thanks and drive on,
MeanGreen

I have some twists in that size and offset if you're interested. They have 996 numbers on the backside of the wheel, however I was told they were off of a Boxter (wouldn't they have a 968 number? who knows..). Send me a message if you're interested.

You must be talking of the 17" Carrera wheel which did have 996 numbers. However, if these were factory installed on a Boxster, they would be 7" (ET55) and 8.5" (ET50).

So are these the specs of OEM 17" wheels as they came on 996 models? I'm looking for a set of winter wheels/tires for a 2002 C4. But the offsets of various wheels that claim they fit the 996 are all over the place! I am interested to know what Porsche supplied on new cars ordered with 17" wheels from the factory.

And it would be good to know if these particular wheels were used from the factory for any other cars (i.e. 993 or Boxster)?

Thanks,
David

According to my Christophorus 2001/2002 Winter Wheel Guide, the fronts of the Boxster/996 are both 17x7ET55. The rears were either 17x8.5ET50 (= Boxster) or 17x9ETET55. This applies to C2 and C4, except for the C4 from Aug '01 which were only spec'ed with the 9" rears.

FWIW, I have a set of Mille Miglia Cup 3 (Turbo Look licensed 17s) in 17x7.5ET52 and 17x9ET47. I have read that 996 guys have used these same wheels for snows. The rears would be roughly equivalent to the factory wheel with an 8mm spacer due to the difference in offset. The fronts are 1/2" wider and would be roughly equivalent (looks-wise) to using a 9mm spacer on OE fronts. Right now, I have 235/45 and 265/40 on them. Once I finish off the rubber, I will be selling them at some point. But, in any case, I think they're great looking wheels:
