Question Flatspotting - How long does it take?

Sorry for the n00b question, but I couldn't find an answer to this through the search function. When parked in one place, how long does it take for a tire to develop a (permanent) flat spot? I assume the period is longer than a week and shorter than full winter storage. Does it matter whether the tires are new(er) vs. a couple of years on 'em?

In hot weather it can happen overnight (really) but it goes away quickly too....

Haven't had the car through a winter yet so you will know as soon as I do.

It also depends on the tire brand.

The only permanent flat spots I've encountered have been from locking up the brakes at speed and grinding a section of the tread flat. I've left cars parked for many months and have never had tires that didn't get round again after driving for a while and getting some heat in them.

Thanks, just wondering if my Michelin Pilot Sport Cups would go flat sitting in a couple of weeks in one place. So far, hasn't seemed a problem.

Thanks,

Brett
