Default Anyone experience with Forgeline

I heard Forgerline RS line was considered to be brittle. I don't know if there is any truth to this and I am considering buying a used set for my track wheels. I certainly don't want to get involved with a wheel that is brittle for the track or has anyone other diffencies for that matter. Can anyone fill me in? Thanks in advance.

Scott,
Before I answer your question I'll confess to currently owning 3 sets of Forgelines...I talked to a lot of people before I bought my first set and didn't hear one negative comment; the consistent answer I got from multiple people was these are great wheels and a very good value.
I got rid of my RS wheels because I wanted to go to 18s and I've subsequently bought 2 more sets for my race car - couldn't be happier. The service is beyond reproach and I would wholeheartedly recommend them.
Don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call Dave Schardt - the phone number is on www.forgeline.com.
Best regards,
Rick

You are saying this as if leakage and breakage are common occurrences with Fikse and Kinesis. You know they are not. Any lightweight 3-piece wheel put through hard use will eventually fail one way or another. Also, Forgeline wheels are much less attractive. Although, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is worth a premium to some.

I have used a set of SX-3s all season and they have been great. They are also incredibly light. I did have one of the titamium bolts fail right before a track event. They sent me a couple of them to my hotel with overnight early AM shipping at no cost. I will definitely buy from these guys again....

When I spoke of my leaky fikse several racers mentioned the same problem and the broken kinesis cost $300.00 to fix the broken center plus shipping two ways !
